Melbourne University’s development of University Square incorporated the construction of 3 new buildings and an underground carpark on the south side of Grattan street.

The buildings comprised the prestigious new Law Building, the proposed Private University, and Student Accommodation. Significant security planning was undertaken by SCG team members early in the project to ensure the new facilities operated in a functional and appropriate way and complied with the technical requirements defined by Melbourne University. This included CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and the design of the new Moot Court within the Law Building which incorporated state of the art audio visual equipment to enable greater use of technology to assist in court functions.

Central Queensland University

SCG was engaged to undertake a review of current Central Queensland University (CQU) security practices, systems and equipment in order provide a baseline understanding of the current performance. SCG then provided a Security Management Plan complete with recommendations for future improvements to enable CQU to meet the needs of its staff and students given the current and perceived future security threats.

Walter Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research

The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) is one of Australia’s foremost medical research establishments.

SCG team members undertook the security design and project management of WEHI’s Biotechnology Research facility at Bundoora.

This specialist facility includes a substantial small animal breeding program and provides laboratories for the commercial incubation of the Institute’s discoveries, including the establishment of start-up biotechnology companies. The facility has high levels of security as a consequence.

 

RMIT Bundoora

SCG was engaged by RMIT to undertake a Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment and to review the operational, technical, physical and management regimes from a holistic perspective across the campus.

SCG provided RMIT with a full picture of their threats, vulnerabilities and risks and pragmatic and realistic treatment plans and controls to assist in mitigating the identified risks as it relates to its Bundoora campus.
