SCG team members undertook the Lead SCEC Security Consultant role for the upgrade of Hangar One at RAAF Richmond.

The upgrade works included hardening of the existing spaces within the Hangar to provide a PSPF compliant Zone 4 area as well as provision of a new Electronic Access Control System (EACS) and Type 1 Security Alarm System (SAS) connected to the existing base wide systems.

A key challenge to the physical hardening was the heritage listing of the Hangar, which required careful consideration of the hardening pallicaiton to ensure the heritage elements of the building were not compromised or damaged as part of the works as well as minimising any visual impacts externally.

SCG team members provided design and documentation detailing both the physical security hardening and electronic security works as well as providing certification of the installed Type 1 SAS.
