We are thrilled to welcome Simon West, one of Australia’s most highly regarded protective security practitioners to the SCG team. Simon joins us in our new Canberra office in the role of Lead, Protective Security Capability. Simon brings with him over twenty years’ experience working in Government and National Security.
During his career, Simon has conducted security risk assessments on Australia’s most vital critical infrastructure and managed the Australian Government’s counter-terrorism and counter-espionage protective security training programs, providing protective security advice and training nationally and internationally. He is well renowned for his expert contribution to government and industry security forums and the Australia-New Zealand Counter-Terrorism Committee.
Simon led the development of protective security capability within all levels of government and collaborated with overseas agencies in the provision of leading edge security advice with applicability across government, critical infrastructure, crowded places and major events.
Simon’s arrival bolsters SCG’s Government, Risk and Assurance (GRA) capability, given Simon’s extensive knowledge of Australian Government Security Policy. He was a contributing editor to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and co-authored the technical notes governing the construction and management of PSPF Zones.
